Rose Weekend

Presented by the Friends Elizabeth Park

Friday, June 19 through Sunday, June 21, 2009

Free to the Public
(All activities except the Wine & Roses Gala)

Rose Weekend is the crowning event for Elizabeth Park when the Rose Garden is in full bloom. The Rose Garden features over 15,000 rose bushes and arches, which cover over two and one half acres. Words cannot describe the Rose Garden in full bloom, although “amazing” and “heavenly” come to mind.

The public is invited to bring lawn chairs and a picnic dinner. For those who want a night out, The Pond House Café will be opened for dinner.  To make reservations, please call 860-231-882.

The Friends of Wallace Stevens will read poetry on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.  The Connecticut Rose Society will host the Rose Show in the Pond House on Sunday, from 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm. Many other activities will be taking place during Rose Weekend, see the schedule below for details.
