| If
you are getting married in the town of West Hartford, you must apply for your marriage license in the Town Clerk's office. Both the bride and groom must appear in person and each must bring State of Connecticut Pre-marital blood test certificates. Blood tests can be obtained at a local lab or walk-in clinic. The fee for a marriage license is $30.00. If the bride is planning to change  her last name, she may wish to order and pre-pay an additional $5.00 for a certified copy of the marriage license. A certified copy of the license is required by Social Security
to make a name change. Requests for certified copies of marriage licenses should include the bride's maiden name, the groom's name and the date of marriage. Copies of marriage licenses are available for $5.00 each. To request a certified copy by mail, please use the attached form. |
