The Greenhouses

.

The greenhouses are 100 year old Lord and Burnham structures.  The facility is used to grow annuals and other plants that are planted in the park's gardens and in plantings that are located throughout the city.  The City of Hartford is no-longer able to keep the greenhouses open for the public except for
2 weeks during the spring flower show in March.

Each year, in the winter, the greenhouse has an extensive display of poinsettias and in the spring a flowering bulb show delights the senses.   The greenhouse's permanent collection includes cacti, bird of paradise, palm trees, a banana tree, a Ponderosa Lemon tree, and much more.
